KeNHA announces 3-day closure of section of Uhuru Highway

By , October 19, 2023

Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a three-day traffic disruption on a section of Uhuru Highway over scheduled maintenance.

In a public notice on Thursday, October 19, the authority said the temporary closure would affect the section of the busy Uhuru Highway from Haile Selassie to Bunyala roundabouts on Mombasa Bound lanes.

The affected section will be closed from Thursday, October 19, 2023, to Saturday, October 21, 2023.

“This (the closure) is to allow for the highway maintenance works along the section,” KeNHA said.

Motorists heading towards Mombasa Road have been advised to exit at Haile Selassie roundabout, and share the Nairobi Bound carriageway with the Nairobi Bound traffic, and rejoin Mombasa Bound carriageway at Bunyala roundabout.

The motorists have also been urged to cooperate with traffic marshals on site.

“Motorists are advised to approach this section with caution and follow traffic signs and guidance as directed by traffic marshalls and Police,” KeNHA added.

KeNHA is responsible for the management, development, rehabilitation, and maintenance of Class S, A and B roads in the country.

Other road agencies are the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) and Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA).
