Uhuru calls for unity, compassion and road safety during Christmas
Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on Kenyans to embrace unity, compassion and responsible travel during the Christmas season, emphasising that no journey is worth losing a life.
In a statement issued on his official X account on Thursday, December 25, 2025, Uhuru extended his Christmas wishes to Kenyans, calling on the country to reflect on shared values that bind the nation together.
“As we mark this Christmas season, I extend my sincere wishes of peace, joy, and God’s blessings to you and your families,” Uhuru said.
Safe travels
With thousands of Kenyans travelling to be with family and friends during the holidays, Uhuru placed strong emphasis on road safety, urging motorists and pedestrians alike to exercise caution.
“As many travel to be with loved ones, I urge all to exercise caution on our roads. Let us be patient, obey traffic rules, and remember that no journey is worth a life. Together, let us commit to arriving safely,” he stated.
Uhuru emphasised the importance of the Christmas season as a reminder of shared values that bind Kenyans together across their diversity.
“May this festive period remind us of the values that unite us, love, unity, compassion, and hope for a brighter future,” he said.
New Year wishes
The retired President extended his wishes for the coming year, emphasising the importance of unity and mutual respect for national progress.
“Looking ahead, I wish you a prosperous New Year 2026, filled with unity, peace, and mutual respect for the good of our beloved nation,” Uhuru stated.
He concluded his message with prayers for divine blessing upon Kenyans and their families.
“Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you all. God bless you, your families, and our great country, Kenya,” he added.
