Two Kenyans charged with stealing Ksh140 million from Dubai-based company

The investigating officer in a case where two Kenyans have been charged with stealing  Ksh140 Million from Transguard Company based in Dubai wants the two suspects extradited to the United Arab Emirates.

Surgent Emmanuel Getich based at Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Friday told principal magistrate Hellen Okwani that the key witnesses are unable to travel to Kenya to testify in the proceedings.

The prosecutor James Gachoka told the court that he will seek instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and file an application for the court to make its determination.

The two Kenyans, Rebecca Mueni Musau and George Gitau Maina, are charged that on March 4, 2018 at Deira City Centre Mall in Dubai with others not before the court are suspected to have stolen five million Dirhams cash (Sh140 million) on transit property of Transguard Company.

Principal magistrate Hellen Okwani has given the DPP until July 2 to make application for extradition.
