Some 3,972 high school teacher graduates and 1000 primary school counterparts will benefit from the new recruitment exercise.
“The Teachers Service Commission is declaring 5,000 teaching vacancies to support the government policy on 100 percent transitioning learners from primary to secondary schools and to address the existing teacher shortage. The teachers recruited will serve on permanent and pensionable terms of service,” TSC said in a statement.

TSC warns fraudsters
“Merit lists generated during this recruitment for primary and post-primary institutions will be used in subsequent recruitment processes within the financial year,” TSC stated.
The teacher’s body has also announced 8,230 vacancies to replace teachers who exited service through natural attrition.
These will include 6,539 posts for primary schools and 1,691 posts for secondary schools.
The list of shortlisted candidates, interview dates, and venues will be published on the TSC website by July 15, 2022.
“The recruitment exercise is free of charge. The Teachers Service Commission forewarns applicants against fraudsters who might extort money from unsuspecting persons purporting to assist in recruitment,” TSC added.
