Trans Nzoia: Residents asked to volunteer information on stolen guns

Residents of Saboti in Trans Nzoia county have been asked to volunteer information to help in the recovery of two firearms stolen by bandits from the Kenya Forest Service Sunday night.
Trans nzoia County Commissioner Sam Ojwang said the police had launched investigations into the incident where a G3 rival, pistol and over 50 rounds of ammunition were stolen alongside a steel armory box.
Speaking to the People Daily in his office, Ojwang said police had recovered the armory box and were investigating leads of the firearms which might have landed into the neighboring Mt. Elgon sub county in Bungoma County.
“Our Security personnel are following leads after visiting the scene of the incident . We have notified our counterparts in Bungoma county and we are also coordinating with security personnel in Pukwo and Kapchorwa in Uganda to see how we can have the guns recovered,” said the county commander.
He warned that security apparatus have been put on the higher alert to ensure the region is safe even when the country is dealing with the corona virus threat.
