Moses Kuria Visits Meru for CAIP Launch

Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Investments, Trade & Industry, Moses Kuria, is scheduled to visit Meru County for the launch of the County Aggregation & Industrial Park (CAIP).

This event follows his successful launches of similar parks in various counties across Kenya, including Busia, Kakamega, Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Migori, Siaya, Kisii, Nyamira, Mombasa, Kajiado, Narok, and Laikipia.

However, this Meru event carries an interesting twist as it coincides with the impeachment plans against County Governor Kawira Mwangaza.

Despite requests from his colleague Mithika Linturi and the Meru Leadership to postpone the event due to the political situation in Meru, Kuria has decided not to delay it. He believes that the urgent issues of joblessness and poverty facing the people cannot wait for political disputes to be resolved.

Court Cases

In separate court cases, Sammy Kipng’etich Kirui and 13 others are facing charges related to conspiracy to commit corruption. The allegations involve the irregular purchase of land (LR no. 14759/2) in Machakos, intended for cemetery use by the City Council of Nairobi. The court proceedings are set to take place at the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court.

At the Kitui Anti-Corruption Court, there will be a mention for Nelson Kivali, who is charged with uttering false documents, forgery, deceiving the principal, providing false information, and giving false information to a person employed in public service.

The accused is alleged to have made false statutory declarations while seeking employment at the County Government of Kitui.
