Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

Launch of Nairobi service centre

Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja is today expected to officially launch the Nairobi City county government service centre.

The event will be held at City Hall Annex from 11 am to 1 pm.

Blackout in 10 counties

Kenya Power on Wednesday announced scheduled power interruptions that will affect 10 counties today.

In a statement, the utility company said the scheduled outage will affect Kiambu, Machakos, Kajiado, Embu, Nyeri, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kisii, Migori and Kilifi counties from 8 am to 7 pm.

In Kiambu, the scheduled interruptions will affect areas such as Prisons, part of BTL, Superfoam, MKU, Bidco, Witeithie, Ngoingwa, Tola and adjacent customers from 9 am to 5 pm.

In Machakos, the areas that will be affected include Mlolongo town, Sabaki, Ilpolosat, and Konza whereas Kiserian, Kanisani Road, Kwekwe, Nalepo, Kahuho, Kiserian Town, Pipeline Road, Kipeto, and Saithya areas in Kajiado county will be affected.

The outage in Migori will affect Kegonga and Maeta areas. Similarly, the outage in Kilifi county will affect areas such as Kilifi, Sea Horse, Magreb, Viwa Hospital and adjacent customers.

In Embu County, the area scheduled for blackout includes the P1 Oriental Hotel and adjacent customers.

Areas that will be affected by the outage in Nandi are Koisolik and Kurgung while in Kisii County, the areas affected are Ogembo and Kenyenya.

In Nyeri County, the power outage is scheduled for Tetu, Kigogoina, Wandumbi, Chaka, Karundas, Chinga, and Rurunguti areas. In Uasin Gishu, the power outage will affect Cheplaskei and adjacent customers.
