Mention of Otieno Bob Kephas and 5 others’ case
According to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), the Anti-corruption court in Homa Bay is set to mention the case involving Kephas Bob Otiento and five others.
They face charges of conspiracy to commit corruption and abuse of office. The allegations revolve around a joint conspiracy between senior officials of the Homa Bay County Assembly and private entrepreneurs to embezzle Ks 85.2 million belonging to the County Assembly.
Mention of James Mwangi Gakuya and 11 others
The EACC has also disclosed that the case involving James Mwangi Gakuya and 11 others is scheduled for mention at the Milimani Anti-Corruption court.
They are charged with conflict of interest and fraudulent acquisition of public property. The allegations are related to the allocation of Ksh40 million to roads constructed by the Kenya Rural Roads Authority by the NGCDF Committee of Embakasi North Constituency.
CAF African School Champions commences
In sports, the CAF African Schools Football Championship CECAFA Qualifiers are set to kick off at the Moi International Stadium Annex.
All U-15 boys and girls teams from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia, Rwanda, and Burundi have safely arrived in Nairobi.
The director of CECAFA Competitions, Yussuf Mossi, revealed that the qualifiers will adopt a league format, providing more playing opportunities for the teams.
After the league phase, the top two teams in each category will advance to the finals. Mossi explained that the decision aims to ensure that the participating teams can engage in a greater number of matches
