Here is what you need to know in order to get up to speed with today’s happenings.
1. Okoth Obado graft case
Former Migori Governor Zacharia Okoth Obado and seven others will today appear in Milimani Court for a hearing over graft cases during his tenure from 2013 to 2017.
Obado and the co-accused are charged with conspiracy to commit an offence of corruption and conflict of interest.
Further allegations relate to gross misappropriation of public funds through his designated proxies.
2. SGR debt impact forum
Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project debt impact forum will today be hosted by Okoa Mombasa.
The in-person town hall meeting will focus on how the debt has impacted – and continues to impact – Mombasa County.
The meeting will be held at Ronald Ngala Primary Social Hall.
Guest speakers include Busia senator Okiya Omtata, former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga, Governor Abdul Nassir, Jimi Wanjigi among others.
