Reactions to Gachagua’s fate

Mixed reactions are expected to trickle in after a section of legislators from the Mt Kenya region fell out with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and found dalliance with Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki.

More than 48 legislators pledged their allegiance to Kindiki, stating that he would be their only link to President William Ruto going forward.

However, the move has been received with backlash from a section of Gachagua’s supporters, including Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba, who termed the realignment as ‘hot air’.

Ruto in Germany

President Ruto will be completing his tour of Germany today after signing an agreement on Friday, September 13, 2024, with the city of Hamburg and inking another labour mobility pact that is set to benefit more than 250,000 Kenyans.

This will be Ruto’s last day in the European nation where he pitched tent in the company of Raila Odinga, who speaks fluent German, having schooled there decades ago.

Power blackout 

Kenya Power announced a scheduled power outage set for Saturday, September 14, 2024, that will affect parts of the country.

The scheduled power blackout in Uasin Gichu County will mainly affect the areas of Kipkeino and Kosyin.

Affected customers include residents of Chiv Construction Limited, Hari Pipe Company, Kipkeino Centre, Kosyin Dispensary and Centre, Tangit Centre, Kamagut High School, Kamagut Missionary Hospital, Victoria Water Pump, and adjacent customers.

Electricity is set to go off at 10 am until 5 pm when Kenya Power said it will be restored.
