Tobiko extends logging ban
Cabinet Secretary for Environment Keriako Tobiko has extended the logging ban in public land and community forests for one year.
“The moratorium imposed by the Government on logging in Public and Community Forests has been extended for a further period of twelve months,” read the statement by Tobiko.
Tobiko effected the initial logging ban in 2018, as a move to protect forests and water catchment areas from destruction.
Tobiko then extended the three months ban for six more months.
The initial ban was issued by the Deputy President William Ruto.
