He described seeing joy written clearly on Mukhwana’s face and feeling the depth of his commitment to family in that instant. According to Wanyonyi, his brother did not hesitate to accept the responsibility, a role he embraced with seriousness and love.

“My brother was beaming with joy, and I could see and feel it. He quickly stepped forward to take his role and carried it out well up to his final moments. That is my happiest time with my brother,” he wrote.

“James was very happy for me when I won. He was the only one from the family who congratulated me and came to my homecoming party,” he continued.

As he reflected on these memories, Wanyonyi acknowledged the pain of loss and the silence left behind. He said that the moments of happiness now serve as reminders of what his brother meant to him, both as a family member and as a source of encouragement during key stages of his life.

“These are two moments that I can remember being so happy with him. I will miss him very much,” he stated.

Wanyonyi’s message offered a rare glimpse into his personal life, showing a side defined not by politics but by family, gratitude, and grief.
