The police also confisticated six-50kg bags of rice bearing the Government of Kenya (GoK) labels, 100kg of beans and 150kg of sugar packed in 50kg and 25kg bags respectively.

The police said the suspects were ferrying the goods in a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to a DCI officer stationed in Wajir County.

The police revealed that the suspects had changed the registration of the vehicle from GKB739G to KCL 946F.

According to a statement from the DCI, the Sh239,500 in cash was meant for bribery.
