‘They will be asking for another reshuffle in 6 months time’ – Kuria
Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria has now made it clear that he will stay committed to his roles regardless of the ministerial portfolio he is posted to.
Speaking in Garissa on Thursday, October 5, 2023, the CS while insinuating that the new changes were influenced by his ‘enemies’ maintained that regardless of where he is posted, he will continue working diligently.
“Mimi nakuwanga na maadui wengi na sijali kwa sababu kwetu tunasemanga ndovu haiwezi kushindwa na pembe zake, hata wakuje nani na nani kazi ntaendelea kutwanga, nitaendelea kunyorosha Kenya and if you don’t like me anza kuandikia Rais,” he stated.
This loosely translates to:
“I always have several enemies but I don’t care. Regardless of who tries to sabotage me, I will continue doing my work diligently and whoever doesn’t like me can as well write to the president,”
Without mentioning names, the CS claimed that his ‘enemies’ will ask for another reshuffle to jeopardise his efforts once they learn that his efforts to ensure President William Ruto’s administration succeeds bear fruit.
“Wale wansheherekea ati mimi niliondolewa kwa hii wizara within 6 months wataanza kuenda kwa rais kumwambia amezidi sana mtoe hapa tena. They will be asking for another reshuffle in 6 months time because vile ntatwanga hiii kazi, vile ntaruka ruka hii Kenya kuhakikisha serikali ya William Ruto ime succeed kwa ile mipango ambayo iliahidi watu wetu.
“Kama ulikua unasumbuliwa na mimi nikiwa na mshahara moja sembuse saii nacoordinate mbili si utajiharia?” he posed.
This loosely translates to:
“Those celebrating that I was moved from my previous docket will start writing to the president within six months telling him that I am too much and should therefore be reshuffled again. They will be asking for another reshuffle in 6 months’ time because of how great my work is. I will try my best to ensure that Ruto’s administration succeeds and fulfils its manifesto,”
Further, the CS welcomed his new role noting that he was ready for any ministerial portfolio, including gender.
“Na vile mliskia sasa mimi ni Waziri wa Public Service, waziri wa maneno ya performance na waziri wa maneno ya delivery. Maneno ya Public Service nimeachiwa na dada yangu Aisha Jumwa na yeye akaenda kufanya kazi ya Gender, Culture na Arts. Hata kama hiyo ya Gender ningeambiwa nifanye, ningefanya kisawasawa,” the CS said.
This loosely translates to:
“(As you’ve all heard I’m the new CS for Public Service, Performance & Delivery Management after taking over from Aisha Jumwa who will now serve in the newly established Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage. Even if I was asked to serve in that docket, I would work diligently.)”
