Stop using donated OdiBets kits as campaign tools: Otieno warns

By , September 2, 2020

Nairobi based lawyer Amos Otieno has warned local football chiefs against using donated football equipment as campaign tools and called for investigations into the matter.

Otieno who is seeking the Nairobi East chairman’s position during the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) County elections slated for September 19, said a section of branch officials were currently distributing football equipment donated by betting firm OdiBets early in the year.

“These equipment were donated by OdiBets early in the year to support grassroot football.

Most teams were not given the kits, bibs and footballs as a section of officials hid them in their houses to wait to campaign with them.

The teams have a right to these donations and they should never be used as campaign tools,” Otieno said.

He added: “This clearly shows lack of transparency, the high levels of corruption, intimidation and discrimination of members.
