Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna has continued his sustained attacks on President William Ruto over his policies.
Speaking on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, Sifuna claimed that Kenyan voters made a terrible experiment in the August 2022 general elections and were eagerly waiting to vote out Ruto since they were fed up with his unfulfilled promises.
He also criticized Ruto’s regime saying it was clueless about its mandated roles and as such Ruto would be a one-time president.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) secretary general also pointed out that the incompetency within the Kenya Kwanza administration has caused different debates on the new successors to replace the current leaders.
“I have no doubt in my mind that Ruto is going to be a one-time president, I can assure you the people of Kenya are going to put a stop to this very terrible experiment they put themselves to in 2022, nawahakikishia kwa sababu kila mkenya ameona hawa watu hii kazi imewashinda. Ukiskia kule Central Kenya wanasema wanataka kubadilisha kikosi game haijafika minute 20 wanataka kupiga substitution, wanasema Gachagua wanaelewa kwa nini baba anamwita Gachietha kwa sababu amekua mzigo kwao pia,” Sifuna stated.
The senator additionally stated that regardless of who the government fronts as the presidential candidate, the citizens would not for anyone allied to Ruto.
He further assured Kenyans that the opposition would deliver them from the current economic situation by ensuring that the reconstitution of the IEBC is implemented to enhance fairness.
The senator stressed that the reconstitution of the IEBC would enhance transparency in the electoral process. He also noted that the Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition would win the election if the IEBC commissioners were well vetted.
“For as long as we get the IEBC rights hao majamaa I can assure Hao majamaa sisi tunawaambia wanaenda nyumbani, walete nini, walete Waiguru ama walete nani wanenda nyumbani,” he added.
