Betika National Super League sides Shabana FC and Soy United will be seeking their elusive first wins of the season today when the competition enters its third round of action.

Both sides are yet to record maximum points in their opening two fixtures and their club officials are upbeat their third time of asking will yield maximum points.

Shabana started the season with 1-0 defeat to Chemelil Sugar at Moi Stadium Kisumu despite dominating the match, before fighting hard to force a two-all draw against Mt Kenya FC on Saturday at Awendo Green Stadium.

Today, the Glamour Boys will host Kisumu All-Stars and team manager Elijah Sani is targeting nothing but three points.

“Our target is to win as many matches as we can and nothing has changed. So we are still going for the three points because we can’t slip anymore,” Sani told People Sport.

Shabana is 14th on the log with a single point while All Stars are sixth with four points after one win and a draw.

Soy, on the other hand, have produced two consecutive similar results of 2-2 draws against Nairobi Stima and Mwatate United, and club patron Edwin Ayiro is upbeat that this time around they will get it right when they welcome current league leaders Talanta FC at Bukhungu Stadium.

Talanta has emphatically started the season by beating Modern Coast Rangers 2-1 away and Chemelil Sugar 3-0 on Saturday at home, and will surely give Soy a run for their money as they seek to make it three wins out of three.

At Awendo, a rejuvenated Sony Sugar is seeking to build on their weekend victory as they host wounded neighbours Migori Youth at Awendo Green Stadium.

Meanwhile, Mwatate who recorded their first point of the season after drawing against Soy on Saturday, are  hopeful of collecting the first three points when they tour Camp Toyoyo Nairobi to take on 12th placed Nairobi Stima, who are also hungry for a win after drawing in their opening two fixtures.
