A Sh600 million Naro Moru Level Four hospital in Kieni, Nyeri County is expected to start operations by end of the month.

The 165-bed facility is being equipped at a cost of Sh300 million by the national government ahead of its opening.

Area MP Kanini Kega (right) said residents have been travelling long distances to access health services.

“It is a relief to us as Kieni people because we will now have a fully-fledged hospital near us something we only dreamt of in the past,” he said.

He promised to ensure the facility is properly staffed.
