“I’m completely broken, Dad, especially when I remember the painful journey and struggles that you went through to make me who I am today. You taught me many valuable lessons, the biggest being never to give up no matter what,” Kingi’s emotional statement read in part.
It is this lesson that has pushed me this far. Indeed, you were God’s gift to us. Until we meet again, Dad,” Kingi wrote on his official page.
Following his father’s passing, various leaders including President William Ruto, who described Mzee Mwaruwa as respected, progressive, and hardworking, and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, offered support to the Kingi family during this difficult time.
