Senate Majority whip Kang’ata hints at reshuffle in State agencies

Senate Majority whip Irungu Kang’ata has said more restructuring is expected in Parliament, Cabinet and government parastatals. 

Kang’ata said the ongoing purge is aimed at weeding out leaders who are not working appropriately to deliver the service to the public.

He said the restructuring is expected in three weeks’  time as the government seeks to realign its structures to improve on  its efficiency. 

Speaking in Kigumo, Murang’a, the senator however refuted claims that only those affiliated to the deputy president William Ruto will be affected saying the axe is falling on those who don’t champion the party’s vision. 

“We are simply doing away with people who are not working as they are supposed to,” he said. 

Defend Uhuru

He defended Jubilee Party leader, Uhuru Kenyatta, saying he is not a dictator as  he is being accused by some leaders but was only doing things the way he ought to.

“We have a party constitution which clearly stipulates that leaders given any position in the government have to champion the success of its vision” he said.

 Kang’ata also warned Cabinet Secretaries, heads of parastatals and government bodies who have squandered public money that their days are numbered.
