Savula loses Trade CECM seat in shuffle

By , September 13, 2023

Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa yesterday dropped his deputy Ayub Savula as County Executive Committee (CEC) member for Trade, Industrialization and Tourism.

The Governor said Savula (below) will instead “coordinate all activities in ministries and departments”.
Political pundits, however, said the reshuffle was a demotion for the Deputy Governor.

Also seen to have been demoted is the County Secretary and Head of Public Service Boniface Okoth. Okoth is the new Education CEC member.

His place has been taken over by Lawrence Omuhaka who was the CEC for Public Service and Administration.

Godfrey Owori moves to Public Service and Administration from Education.

“I have also nominated Zacchaeus Muya Lutomia as the CEC Trade, Industrialization and Tourism. He will be appointed to the position after vetting by the County Assembly,” Barasa said in an internal memo.
