Samboja threatens to sack lazy county ministers

By , November 4, 2019

Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has threatened to fire incompetent and lazy county executives.

He said he would replicate the same to non-performing staff in other county government departments, saying they are dragging behind his development agenda.

“Those who are not performing their duties well will go home in the next few weeks. I have given you an opportunity to serve, so you should do your best to help those you are serving,” he said.

Samboja was speaking at Marungu ACK  where he donated Sh100,000 for the construction of the church.

 Service delivery

“This is no longer the Samboja that you knew before, this a different man who will not spare those who are not ready to serve the electorate and l insist this time round if you are not ready to work, go home since you won’t be spared,” he said.

The warning comes barely four days, after he  reshuffled his Cabinet, dismissing four executives in a move he said was meant  to enhance service delivery in the troubled county.

County Chief of Staff and the governor’s secretary Philemon Mwaisaka and the governor’s economic advisor Sylvester Mwaliko were relieved of their duties.

The move comes one week after the county chief survived an impeachment bid after the Senate special committee dismissed allegations raised by the Members of the County Assembly.
