Ruto to Mudavadi: Let your earthquake announcement bring peace and harmony
Deputy President William Ruto has called on Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi to ensure that his big announcement will help to bring unity and harmony across the country.
Speaking while attending a church service in Kajiado, the DP said that he is hoping that, the alleged earthquake announcement will eliminate the politics of deceit and hatred that he says has been in Kenya politics.
“I came to church earlier today because our political friend Musalia Mudavadi promised an earthquake today. I’m hoping it will eliminate the politics of deceit and build Kenya that is more united,” Ruto said.
Musalia Mudavadi is expected to host more than 3000 delegates at the Bomas of Kenya where he is expected to announce his presidential bid.
He is expected to be accompanied by One Kenya Alliance (OKA) team and several political leaders from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
UDA leaders who are expected at the meeting include MPs Alice Wahome (Kandara), George Theuri (Embakasi West), John Kiarie (Dagoretti North) and Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet). Nairobi Senator Johnstone Sakaja is also expected to be present.
National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi is also reportedly on his way to the event and sources say Deputy President William Ruto might also attend the event.
Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua and Tujibebe Wakenya Party leader William Kabogo are some of the leaders expected as well.
Mudavadi’s counterparts at One Kenya Alliance co-principals, Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya) and Gideon Moi (Kanu) are among key leaders lined up for the event.
Kalonzo and Moi were already endorsed by their respective parties to run for the presidency.
Mudavadi had asked his supporters to be patient and wait for his major announcement dubbed ‘the earthquake’.
