Deputy President William Ruto has exuded confidence that he will overwhelmingly win the presidential seat in the upcoming polls.

Ruto said the recently formed partnership between the United Democratic Alliance  and Amani National Congress as well as Ford Kenya cemented his ‘sure bet’ candidature.

“The fact that Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetang’ula and other partners are now in our team is evident that we shall win with a landslide, much to the chagrin of the State project,” he said.

He spoke yesterday during a campaign blitz in Kiambu where he toured Kabete, Kikuyu and Limuru sub-counties.

DP pledged that his administration will endeavour to create jobs for the youth and also avail interest free loans to all those willing to conduct small and medium enterprises.

“Creating employment for our youth will be our first priority. We shall also take loan facilities to wards so that everyone will have access to them,” he said.

Ruto reiterated that his government will ensure every Kenyan will have their health insurance catered for through the National Hospital Insurance Fund.

“Those of you who will be able to pay for the insurance will enjoy free services by the government because we shall be committed to ensure the Universal Health Care becomes a reality,” he said.

He called on Kenyans to shun leaders who are bent in dividing them along tribal lines, noting that he and President Uhuru Kenyatta laid the anti-tribal political competition in 2013 and 2017.

DP was flanked by a host of UDA affiliated MPs including Githua Wamacukuru (Kabete), Kimani Ichung’wa (Kikuyu), John Kiarie (Dagoretti South), Gathoni Wamuchomba (Kiambu Woman Rep), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Alice Wahome(Kandara), George Koimburi (Juja), Charles Njagua (Starehe), former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and lawyer Nelson Havi.

Hustler movement

Wamacukuru urged Mt Kenya residents who are yet to register as voters to do so. “We want to ensure that Ruto goes to State House. We can, however, not do it if we do not  have votes so it is necessary for those not yet registered to do so,” he said.

Waititu said Mt Kenya voters would not betray the DP and would fulfill their promise to elect him after President Uhuru.

“We went around the country in 2017 and promised to support you in 2022. We keep promises and nothing or nobody can make us change our minds,” said Waititu.

Ruto has said the Hustler movement has brought all Kenyans together irrespective of their ethnic and political persuasions.

Ruto said their efforts to unite Kenyans and eradicate tribal politics were paying off.
