President William Ruto has reappointed Faith Boinett as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited (KPC). The reappointment, announced in a gazette notice on Friday, 19 December 2025, will take effect on 23 December 2025 and will run for three years.

“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the State Corporations Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint FAITH BOINETT to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 23rd December, 2025,” the notice reads.

Boinett was first appointed to the role on December 23, 2022, succeeding Rita Achieng Okuthe. She has served in the position since then, overseeing the company’s board and guiding its strategic decisions.

A lawyer by profession, Boinett has more than 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. She is the managing partner at Boinett & Bett Company Advocates, a firm recognised for defending the rights of women and children. Her appointment to KPC has drawn attention for her legal expertise and leadership in corporate governance.

Amid major state appointments

The reappointment comes amid broader leadership changes in state agencies following the 2022 General Election. On the same day, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba revoked the appointment of Ben Chumo as Chairperson of Kenyatta University Council and appointed Clara Samiji Momanyi to the position for a three-year term starting 19 December 2025.

These appointments follow a series of government leadership decisions made by President Ruto and Cabinet Secretaries in recent months. For instance, on November 21, 2025, Ruto appointed James Dianga as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Lake Basin Development Authority.

Similarly, CS Energy Opiyo Wandayi and Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe made several appointments and reappointments under their respective mandates, including Francis Agar to the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency and John Mtuta Mruttu as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Agricultural Finance Corporation.

Boinett’s reappointment was made under the authority of the State Corporations Act, which allows the President to appoint or reappoint board members of state corporations. The term of service for such appointments is generally three years, unless otherwise stated.
