President William Ruto has nominated 51 people to fill the positions of Principal Secretaries in various state departments.

In a list unveiled on Wednesday, November 2, the Head of State nominated former IEBC Director of ICT James Muhati as PS, State Department for Economic Planning, and former Langata Member of Parliament Nixon Korir as PS, State Department for Lands & Physical planning.

Other notable individuals, who made it to the list include, political analyst Prof. Edward Kisiangani who has been nominated to the State Department for Broadcasting & Telecommunications domiciled in the Ministry of ICT and Digital Economy, Charles Hinga (State Department for Housing & Urban Development), Belio Kipsang (State Department of Basic Learning) and former Nairobi County Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke (State Department for Sports and The Arts).

Hinga and Kipsang served in the previous administration of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a statement to newsrooms, Head of Public Service Felix Koskei said the names of the nominees have been forwarded to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.

More than 9000 applicants expressed interest in the positions with the Public Service Commission only shortlisting 585 candidates.
