President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto have called on Kenyans to embrace unity and cherish the blessings that bind the nation together as the country celebrates Christmas.

In a statement issued on his official X account on Thursday, December 25, 2025, President Ruto and the First Lady extended seasonal greetings to all Kenyans, emphasising the values of hope, joy and peace associated with the birth of Christ.

“May the birth of Christ bring hope, joy, and peace to your home. As we celebrate, let us cherish one another and the blessings that unite us as one nation,” the statement reads.

The President and First Lady concluded their message with warm wishes for both the Christmas season and the coming year.

“Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year 2026,” the statement read, signed by “H.E. Dr William Samoei Ruto, C.G.H. & H.E. Mama Rachel Ruto, E.G.H. President and First Lady of the Republic of Kenya.”

Seasonal greetings

The joint message comes days after President Ruto used a separate festive address to connect with Kenyans, particularly younger audiences, in a lighter and more relatable tone.

In a video shared on his official social media account on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, Ruto tapped into the viral Gen Z slang “clock it” while wishing citizens a Merry Christmas and a blessed 2026.

He also reminded motorists to exercise caution on the roads during the holiday period.

Wakenya 2025, we clocked it. I wish you a merry Christmas and a great and blessed 2026. Na kule barabarani, let’s drive carefully, avoid unnecessary losses. Otherwise, asanteni sana, mungu awabariki nawapenda jameni,” Ruto’s festive message to Kenyans reads.
