William Ruto has joined a section of Kiambu leaders and the faithful of AIPCA Igegania Gatundu North Diocese for a church service on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

The president is expected to oversee the End of Year Sunday service and fundraiser to complete AIPCA Karure Cathedral of Grace as part of his itinerary in the region.

Wamatangi and Ichungw’ah in attendance

The president made his way to the church at 10:00 pm in the company of National Assembly Majority Leader and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah.

Other leaders present include area governor Kimani Wamatangi and MP Njoroge Kururia, Cabinet Secretaries Alice Wahome (Housing) and William Kabogo (ICT), and Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a and the region’s women representative, Anne Wamuratha.

Kiambu return

The visit comes a few months after Ruto’s last visit to the region on August 10, 2025, when he paid a visit to PCEA Joshua Matenjwa Church in Limuru Town and attended the 2025 Kiambu County Devolution Week hosted by the governor.

During the visit, Wamatangi affirmed the county’s commitment to working with Ruto’s government to achieve meaningful development.

“In this county, we have our agenda clear-cut. Unlike others, we decided to reduce the volume of politicking to zero so that we can have a conducive environment for meaningful work. That is the mood here. This is the criterion to know those working and those engaging in talks only,” he stated.

The visit was followed by Ruto hosting the area’s county leaders and grassroots representatives at State House a couple of weeks later as part of his efforts to consolidate his support in the populous county.

Ignore noises

While registering his support for Ruto, ICT CS Kabogo pleaded with the head of state to ignore the noises around him and carry on with his agenda for the Kenyans.

Kwa hiyo, Mheshimiwa Rais, even in the government, you will hear noises here and there. Be like a horse and stay focused because your work is visible, and it is what will be looked at in 2027,” Kabogo told the president.
