In his capacity as Champion of AU Institutional Reforms, the Kenyan head of state will co-chair the AU Institutional Reform Ad Hoc Committee of Heads of States.

Regional cooperation

During the session, Ruto will brief his peers on the progress made towards implementing various reform mandates that strengthen the Union’s governance, peace, and security approaches while enhancing the AU’s financial independence.

The meeting comes as African nation-states seek to reinforce their unity and enhance the continent’s ability to act decisively in a rapidly shifting global environment.

The engagements in Luanda are part of Kenya’s commitment to promoting regional cooperation and strengthening the institutions that support Africa’s long-term stability and development.
