Christmas came early for hundreds of kids from more than 50 children’s homes in Uasin Gishu County after they were hosted by President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto at Eldoret State Lodge on Thursday, December 21.
The children had a quality time with the First Family and high-ranking officials from the Uasin Gishu County government led by Governor Jonathan Bii.
Ruto also conveyed a message of hope to the youngsters by sharing a Bible verse.
“For the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever — Psalm 9:18,” the President wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The event coincided with President Ruto’s 57th birthday and wedding anniversary.
Earlier, Rachel Ruto penned a heartfelt message to her husband as he turned a year older.
The First Lady, who also celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary, expressed gratitude to the Head of State for the love and support he has shown her through the years.
She also reflected on the journey they shared and acknowledged that their union was cemented by three fundamental virtues: faith, love and hope.
“Happy Birthday, Bill, my cherished friend and confidant. On this momentous day, as we celebrate your birthday and our wedding anniversary, I am filled with gratitude,” she wrote.
“Reflecting on the journey we’ve shared, I am reminded of a verse from the Bible, “There are three things that will endure – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13. Kwa kweli mambo ni matatu🥰.
“Your love and support have been a true blessing. Thank you for being a constant source of joy and strength.”
The couple tied the knot at the AIC church in 1991, having met at a Christian Union rally at the University of Nairobi.
