Haiti support office
According to Ruto, the two leaders reached a consensus on the need for the United Nations Security Council to establish a support office for the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission in Haiti.
The office, he noted, would play a critical role in stabilising and securing the Caribbean nation that has faced prolonged unrest.
“We concurred on the imperative and support for a resolution at the UN Security Council that establishes a UN support office for the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission in Haiti, to aid efforts to stabilise and secure Haiti,” Ruto stated.

Eastern DRC conflict
Beyond Haiti, the leaders also addressed regional security concerns, particularly focusing on the East African Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) intervention in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Ruto stated that he emphasised Kenya’s shared commitment with the United States to promote sustainable security in the region.
“We also discussed the EAC–SADC intervention in Eastern DRC, reaffirming our shared commitment to regional peace and sustainable security,” he noted.
Bilateral ties
Beyond regional security, Ruto said the conversation underscored the importance of bilateral relations between Nairobi and Washington.

He noted that both sides agreed to deepen cooperation for the long-term benefit of their citizens and nations.
“At the bilateral level, we underscored the importance of strengthening Kenya–U.S. relations and agreed to deepen cooperation for the long-term benefit of our people and nations,” Ruto stated.
