Ruto angrily lectures Bomet residents for booing during his rally
By Mary Ouko, March 16, 2024President William Ruto on Saturday, March 16, 2024, lectured a section of residents in Bomet for booing during his rally.
Addressing the agitated residents who were heckling the county governor, Hillary Barchok, Ruto fiercely warned that he would not tolerate anyone heckling during his rally.
The president asserted that anyone unimpressed by their leader should wait for the upcoming election to vote them out instead of booing them as they speak.
“Nataka niwaambie kuleta mambo hii kwa mkutano mimi sitaki, nyinyi ndio mnapanga MCA, Mbunge, Seneta na gavana nataka niwaambie mtulize maneno, mkue ni watu wa kusoma barua ikiwa ndani ya bahasha. Kama kuna mtu hajafanya kazi mngoje siku ya uchaguzi mtamalizana nayeye, lakini wakati tuko na mkutano,” the Head of State said.
The president also reiterated his commitment to the recently approved housing bill which he will sign into law on Monday, March 18, 2024.
Ruto defended the bill saying it will spur the country’s economy and create jobs for the youths. He stressed that the bill is also going to revive the country’s manufacturing sector and subsequently resuscitate the country’s dwindling economy.
“Jumatatu, mimi naenda kueka sahihi sheria mpya ambayo tumekubaliana na mahakama ya mambo ya housing kwa sababu we want to make sure that we do that which is going to change our country. Housing is going to create jobs for our young people, it is going to give us decent living conditions for our people of Kenya. It is going to assist us in making sure that we have land for food production.
“It is also going to make sure that we grow our manufacturing sector because many areas will contribute to housing, na ndio hio kazi naenda kufanya jumatatu,” the president added.
