Rift Valley residents comfortable with Rigathi Gachagua as Ruto’s running mate

Political leaders and Residents of the former Rift Valley Province went into Jubilation after the Deputy President William Ruto picked Mathira Constituency Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate ahead of the Monday 16 deadline.

Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago who led other political leaders, clergy and residents of North Rift region in Thanksgiving prayer held in Eldoret town said, Ruto’s decision to pick Gachagua is a boost to Ruto’s Statehouse bid.

“We the people of Rift Valley are very happy for what has happened. With Gachagua’s vast experience,we know Kenya Kwanza will win the Presidential elections in the August 9 polls” Mandago said.

Emurua Dikir legislator Johana Ng’eno said Mt. Kenya region will fully support Ruto’s Presidential bid.

In Trans Nzoia County, Eliud Tormoi, a political analyst said Ruto-Rigathi combination is a perfect match and exuded confidence that Kenya Kwanza Alliance will win the Presidential elections with a huge margin.

FORD Kenya Secretary General who is also Kiminini constituency lawmaker Chris Wamalwa said Rigathi is a great team with a wealth of experience.

“Congratulations to Hon. Rigathi Gachagua on your nomination as the Presidential running mate to H.E Dr. William Ruto. I wish you all the best as we journey together.

“Rigathi fits the hustler hustlers narrative. The Central Kenya voters want a turf guy who represents them; they have it in Rigathi. It is high time the senior position goes to the other side of Chania River, it has been on the other side” Tormoi said.

Patrick Wainaina a resident of Cherang’any said Rigathi has a huge following in Mt. Kenya region based on his courage, touch with the grassroots and influence.

“We have no doubt with the Ruto-Rigathi candidature. You can be sure over 80% of Mt. Kenya registered voters will vote for the duo. Therefore, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party should prepare for a serious defeat” he said.

In Nandi County, residents went to the streets of Kapsabet and Nandi hills town to celebrate Ruto’s long awaited decision.

“Although we were a bit worried yesterday when the announcement was not made. However, we are very happy that Ruto has made the right decision. We are now prepared to witness the two assume office after August general elections” said a resident.

In Nakuru County, locals happily received the news and congratulated Gachagua
