Residents urged to visit Mombasa show

Members of the public, including farmers from drought-stricken areas, have been urged to take advantage of the upcoming Mombasa international show to acquaint themselves with innovations to combat drought and desertification in the changing climate.

The show’s chair Anisa Abdalla (pictured) said the Mombasa show scheduled between November 2 and November 6, will provide key solutions to effects of drought as a number of exhibitors who have confirmed attendance will showcase their best technologies in combating drought to bolster food production.

This year’s event,  Abdalla, said  has attracted groups of exhibitors from technologically advanced countries like Japan, China, Pakistan among other countries who are expected to grace the show with latest innovations on various aspects.

Other countries include Malawi,Tanzania and Egypt who have set their stages at the Mkomani show grounds  where Kenya’s second-largest agricultural show.

 She also challenged elected leaders from across the country to support farmers from their respective regions to attend the show and learn Innovative farming methods that can help the country bolster food production and minimize the threat of food insecurity.
