Imenti North Deputy County Commissioner Odillia Ndeti has called on residents to collaborate with local administrators in the fight against the drug abuse menace.

Speaking in Thuura grounds in the sub-county yesterday, Ndeti said drug abuse that including bhang smoking and illicit brews among others was rampant in some rural areas and could only be eliminated if residents were willing to work closely with chiefs and their assistant chiefs.

“We cannot succeed in ending drug abuse if residents are not willing to surrender crucial information that could lead to the arrest of culprits. Some of the peddlers conduct their businesses in secrecy that our chiefs cannot know unless they are informed,” she said.
