Members of Parliament from the National Assembly and the Senate travelled with the bodies of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno and five others to Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

The delegation flew from Eldoret to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a day after the helicopter crash at Mosop in Nandi County that killed all six people on board. Parliamentary staff accompanied them.

On arrival in Nairobi, the team drove straight to Lee Funeral Home, where staff received and preserved the bodies as burial plans began.

Parliament confirmed the movement in a statement posted on its official channels. It said:

“Members of Parliament from both the Senate and the National Assembly, accompanied by parliamentary staff, have departed Eldoret for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with the remains of the late Hon. Johana Ng’eno, MP, and five others who perished in a chopper crash at Mosop in Nandi County. Upon arrival in Nairobi, the delegation will proceed to Lee Funeral Home, where their remains will be preserved as preparations for burial continue,” the statement said.

The helicopter came down in a forested area at Chepkiep in Mosop Constituency on Saturday February 28. It burst into flames on impact. Police said bad weather may have played a role. Investigations are under way.

Ng’eno had spent the day in the region before the crash. He attended musician Kim Kim’s 35th anniversary celebration in Endebess. Earlier, he shared photos and videos taken from the helicopter as it flew over the Mara River.

On Friday, he issued bursary cheques to students in Ilkerin Ward in Emurua Dikirr. He also joined efforts to rescue two young men swept away by the Mara River and warned residents to take care during the heavy rains.
