Raila Junior praises Ruto for fulfilling his father’s dream
By Mark Mwithaga, April 28, 2026Raila Odinga Junior, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, congratulated President William Ruto for overseeing the handing over of eight new classrooms at the Raila Education Center in Kibera, Nairobi County.
Through a post on X, Raila Junior expressed his gratitude to the president for making his father’s dream a reality.
“This is more than just a school – this is my father Baba Raila Odinga’s dream coming true,” remarked the son of the late veteran politician.

He further noted that Raila always reiterated that education was the backbone of Kenya.
New classrooms opened
“No child should be left behind because of poverty or where they come from. An educated Kenya is a strong Kenya!” he stated.
The vocal figure also revealed that Ruto visited the Raila Odinga Education Centre during his visit to the area.

Other learning institutions that were graced by the Head of State include Joseph Kang’ethe Primary School and Ayany Primary School. Ruto revealed that the ambition of his government in the education sector has brought about positive outcomes across Kenya.
He pointed out that 100,000 teachers have so far been hired.
“Our deliberate and intentional reforms in the education sector are delivering stronger outcomes across the country. “
“We have resolved key challenges that faced the Competency-Based Curriculum, recruited 100,000 teachers, and expanded school infrastructure to accommodate rising enrolment,” stated the president.
The incumbent pointed out that 23,000 classrooms have been erected so far across the nation, with 900 being in Nairobi.
School funding released
The Head of State pointed out that school funding had been released on time.
“Additionally, we are releasing school funding punctually, with the second term’s Ksh23 billion paid well ahead of this week’s opening date,” noted Ruto.

Aside from the education section, the UDA party leader proclaimed that the government will swiftly address the stalled housing units in the area under the Kenya Railways housing project.
“The State Department of Housing will take over and complete the stalled 900 units of the Kenya Railways Corporation Housing Project, Kibra,” he added.
“Constituency, Nairobi. Consequently, the houses will be allocated to the residents of Kibra under the terms of the Affordable Housing Programme,” remarked Ruto.
According to the president, an additional 3,000 units will be added.
