Rachel Ruto urges Kenyans to take care of their parents
First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto has implored Kenyans countrywide to take care of their parents.
Speaking to a crowd on Saturday, March 9, 2024, the First Lady emphasised the importance of taking care of parents stating that it’s the right thing to do as a Christian.
She also urged all children not to neglect their guardians once they transition to adulthood.
The spouse to the president additionally underscored that parents have sacrificed their lives for the comfort of their children therefore they deserve to reap the benefits once their children progress in life.
She went on to encourage Kenyans to spare time to visit their parents back home and always ensure that they show up with goodies to warm their hearts.
Rachel further advised individuals to make it a habit to call parents to check up on them whenever they can.
“Ningependa kusema katika kila familia haswa kwa watoto, kila familia tuchunge wazazi wetu tushugulikie wazazi wetu. Hawa ni wazazi ambao wametusomesha, waliweza kusacrifice mambo yote ili tueze kupata yale tuko nayo siku ya leo kama vile babangu mzazi alisema tafuta nafasi enda nyumbani usalimie wazazi wako na ukienda kuwasalimia usiende mkono tupu fanya shopping kidogo peleka nyumbani na kwa vile Mungu ametubariki na mambo ya masimu piga simu nyumbani uskie vile wazazi wetu wanaendelea,” she said.
Loosely translates to:
“I’d like to urge children across all families to take care of their parents. These are people who have seen us through school and sacrificed to ensure we are comfortable and achieve every thing we have right now, just as my father said, always create time to visit your parents back home and when you visit do not show up empty-handed, instead, do some shopping, if you can’t visit you can always call back home to check on your parents and see how they are fairing on.”
