PWDs accuse Badilisha of discrimination

People with disabilities (PWD) in Nyandarua have criticised Governor Moses Kiarie Badilisha (pictured) for sidelining them when filling positions in his administration
Nominated MCA, Joyce Munyua, who represent PWD, took issues with the Governor for not appointing a single disabled person when filling positions for chief officers.
She expressed her disappointment at the County assembly when contributing to the motion of approval of 14 names of the chief officers on Tuesday.
The assembly Speaker Wachira Waiganjo agreed with her and urged the Governor to ensure that PWDs get a slot in the remaining four chief officer positions.
Hastily sworn in
The approved chief officer was hastily sworn in by the governor in a low-key ceremony held under the shed where the governor and other senior officials’ cars are parked.
Governor Badilisha said the process to fully constitute his government has faced “numerous challenges and roadblock but with the grace of God and support of stakeholders and assembly we’ve been able to conclude the process successfully.”
He thanked the assembly for moving with speed to approve the names “after the case (opposing the names) was vacated.”
