President Uhuru sent me to pass his regards – Raila says at Azimio event in Thika

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has told delegates from Mount Kenya region that President Uhuru Kenyatta sent him to pass his greetings to them.

Raila who was addressing over 1,000 delegates at Mt Kenya University on Saturday also signed a memorandum of understanding based on the list of expectations presented to him by the delegates.

“Kabla nifike hapa leo nilikuwa nimeongea na ndugu yangu Uhuru Kenyatta. Aliniambia nikifika hapa nilete salamu zake. Mumepokea salamu zake? Mumepokea?” Raila posed.

The ODM leader further said that Azimio la Umoja was based on the handshake between himself and Uhuru.

“Tunaongea kuhusu mambo ya Azimio na msingi wake ni ile salamu kati yangu na Uhuru Kenyatta. Na hii salamu haikukuja tu namna hiyo. Tulikuwa tumepigana kwa kiwanja,” Raila said.
