Pray for Ruto to pick right people for his Cabinet – Gachagua
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made a heartfelt plea for prayers for President William Ruto to select the right individuals for his Cabinet.
Speaking during the funeral of Bishop Allan Kiuna held at Paradise in Thindigua, Kiambu County on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, Gachagua emphasized the importance of a leader’s team, stating that a leader is only as effective as the team supporting him.
Further, Gachagua acknowledged the positive step taken by President Ruto in dissolving his Cabinet, laying the groundwork for a fresh start.
“A leader is as good as the team that supports that leader…that is why we support President Ruto for his pragmatic and courageous decision, to dissolve his cabinet and come up with a new team that is focused and competent to help with the management and affairs of this great nation,” DP Gachagua remarked.
Gachagua urged the congregation to pray for President Ruto to appoint individuals who are dedicated to serving the people of Kenya and are committed to delivering results.
“ I want to ask the church and all Christians, to pray for our president… to pick the right people. God has given him a chance to come up with a good team of patriotic Kenyans who are not corrupt, who are not arrogant, who are not vomiting on Kenyans and who are serious on service delivery,” Gachagua added.
In addition, Rigathi emphasized the need for patriotic and service-oriented individuals to be chosen for key positions in the government.
Gachagua called upon the Christian community to seek God’s guidance and favour for President Ruto in making these crucial decisions.
“Our President needs your prayers, are you going to pray for him? Please pray for him and I am sure God will be merciful to him, he will get God’s favour, to pick a good team to put our country on the right trajectory,” Gachagua noted.
Additionally, Gachagua requested the support of the congregants of Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) in backing Rev Kathy Kiuna to lead the church following the foundation laid by her late husband Bishop Allan Kiuna. He encouraged unity and solidarity within the church community to ensure a smooth transition and continued success for JCC.
“As we pray for President Ruto to pick the right team, you as the church do the right thing…support Reverend Cathy to succeed, and you do not have a choice because our brother lying here has left a very good institution, you cannot go back, you can only improve it,” Gachagua said.
