Political analyst Mark Bichachi opens up on health struggles, appeals for support
Political analyst Mark Bichachi has come out seeking help from Kenyans as his health condition deteriorates.
In a long post shared on his social media pages on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the ever-vibrant analyst opened up about his ongoing health struggles and the financial strain that has accompanied them.
Bichachi revealed that he has suspended all his professional engagements to focus on his recovery.
“Today I suspended all superman services to focus on my health. In the spirit of being open and sharing my journey: I have thought long and hard whether to be honest about my health and the financial strain or just struggle,” Bichachi stated
He explained that in March, he underwent surgery to treat his occipital nerve, which had been the source of several conditions, including migraines, hormonal imbalance, and diabetes ailments that had caused him intense pain for over three years.
“In March I had a surgery to heal my occipital nerve which was the cause of many of my conditions. Which at the time included migraines, weird hormone activity, and diabetes. This was after three years of intense pain.” He added.
While some of the symptoms eased after the surgery, he continued to battle diabetes and later developed high blood pressure.

He was hospitalised between September 19 and 21, 2025 after reacting badly to both diabetic and blood pressure medication.
The medication caused panic attacks, severe stomach cramps, and chronic acidity that made it difficult for him to sleep due to painful reflux and persistent coughing.
A recent endoscopy conducted on Tuesday revealed a large stage 3 hiatal hernia, which now requires another surgery.
Bichachi noted that the cost of medication in preparation for the surgery has become overwhelming, as his outpatient medical cover has been exhausted. He added that he has been relying on his own limited finances and assistance from close friends to survive.
Apealling for help
He admitted that the financial pressure has been worsened by unpaid client work and the growing burden of medical bills. Although an M-Changa fundraising initiative was started on his behalf, he expressed uncertainty about publicly sharing it, saying he has always preferred to manage on his own.
Despite the mounting challenges, Bichachi expressed gratitude to friends who have offered him financial support and encouragement during this difficult period.

He described his current state as extremely difficult, with the stress of illness and financial strain aggravating his health issues. However, he remains hopeful and thankful for those who continue to stand by him as he fights to regain his health.
