A person of interest has been arrested in Kamure, Nakuru County, after being found in possession of cannabis following a successful operation by police officers from Temoyetta Police Station.

In a statement shared on their official X account on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the National Police Service (NPS) said the arrest took place on October 20, 2025, after officers received a crucial intelligence tip-off from members of the public.

Acting swiftly on the information, the officers moved to the Kamure shopping centre, where they apprehended the person.

“Yesterday, 20th October 2025, officers from the National Police Service based at Temoyetta Police Station acted on an intelligence tip-off from the public and arrested a suspect at Kamure shopping centre,” the police statement read.

According to the NPS, a search conducted at the scene led to the discovery of 30 rolls of cannabis, which were immediately confiscated as evidence. The person of interest was then escorted to Temoyetta Police Station, booked, and is expected to be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.

“Upon searching him, they found 30 rolls of cannabis. He was escorted to the police station and booked in, awaiting arraignment in court. The exhibit was also secured at the station,” NPS added.

The police further commended the community for its active role in the fight against illegal drugs, noting that public cooperation remains a key pillar in efforts to curb narcotics and related crimes across the country.

“The National Police Service applauds members of the public for their continued cooperation with security agencies in combating illicit drugs and related crimes,” the statement concluded.

The operation reflects ongoing efforts by the NPS to intensify the crackdown on drug trafficking and substance abuse, which have been major challenges in several counties. In recent months, police have heightened surveillance and urged the public to continue sharing information that can help disrupt the illegal drug trade.

Authorities reiterated that public collaboration and timely intelligence are critical in making communities safer and in bringing those involved in criminal activities to justice.
