Police in Siaya have launched investigations into the mysterious death of a five-year-old girl whose body was found at a farm in Segere village, Central Alego.

The body of Mitchelle Adhiambo was found dumped at a farm owned by Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga on Sunday evening.

The girl had gone missing a week ago from the neighbouring Okoyo village, only to be found dumped in the governor’s farm.

Area chief Felix Omudho said the girl had been left at home when her mother took her younger sibling to hospital at Segere dispensary, only to find her missing when she returned home.

“The girl went missing from their home at Okoyo village at Kochieng sub-location last week when her mother left to take her sibling to the dispensary,” said Omudho.

She was last spotted near Segere Primary School following her mother on the fateful day.
