Police intercept packaged bhang, foiling attempted trafficking in Machakos
By Emmanuel Rono, May 26, 2026Police officers from Machakos County Headquarters have arrested one person of interest following a police operation targeting narcotics trafficking in Machakos Town.
According to a report by the National Police Service on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, officers acted on a tip-off from members of the public, leading to a raid that resulted in the arrest of one individual found in possession of a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa.

“Police officers from Machakos County Headquarters, acting on a tip-off from members of the public, conducted a successful operation targeting narcotic drugs and substance trafficking within Machakos Town,” NPS stated.
Items recovered
During the operation, police say the suspected narcotic was discovered packed in a green sack and further repackaged into 30 carrier bags, indicating possible distribution for sale.
A motorcycle believed to have been used in the trafficking of drugs was also impounded and detained as an exhibit.

“During the operation, officers arrested one person of interest found in possession of a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa. The substance was packed in one green sack and further repackaged into 30 carrier bags. Officers also detained a motorcycle believed to have been used in trafficking the suspected narcotic substance,” NPS said.
The person of interest was booked at Machakos Police Station and is expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue.
