Police deny pickpocketing in viral video

The National Police Service (NPS) has denied claims that one of their senior officers was pickpocketed by his junior.
In a viral video, a junior police officer is seen darting his hand in the pockets of his senior and holding a bright object.
The senior officer notices the strange movement and looks around, but sees nothing.
The video was filmed during the arrest of Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko on December 5, 2019.

In a statement, NPS says that the officer who appears to have been pickpocketed confirmed that nothing was stolen from him.
“The officer in charge of Traffic Voi has confirmed that he was not pickpocketed,” read the statement.
On twitter where NPS posted the statement, social media users ridiculed the police.
A twitter user, Todindo said that he still wouldn’t be surprised if the senior officer was pickpocketed.
NPS did not equally deny that the video was raw footage filmed during Sonko’s arrest and that it was unedited.
