Police boss drops charges against Sonko
Coast Police Commander Rashid Yakub has dropped assault charges against Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko at Voi Law Courts.

Sonko traveled to Voi to face the charges over an alleged assault that happened as he was being arrested on December 6, 2019, in Voi.

Coast Police Commander Rashid Yakub told the prosecution that he was no longer interested in pursuing the case.
Sonko is facing over 30 charges related to misappropriation of county funds amounting to Sh357 million.
