PHOTOS: Raila meets Kisii MCAs and community leaders

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, met a group of Kisii MCAs and community leaders drawn from Nairobi and Nyamira counties.
In a statement shared after the meeting, Raila noted that they discussed mutual areas of cooperation and development.


“I met a group of MCAs and Kisii community leaders from Nyamira and Nairobi Counties. We discussed mutual areas of cooperation and development. The team was led by George Morara, Duke Masira and Moses Ogeto,” Raila said.

The meeting comes a day after his presence in Kiambu where he was attending the funeral of his long-time family friend Lewis Wilkinson Kimani Waiyaki.
During the event, the former premier set the record straight on his recent deal with President William Ruto where he opined that the pact is aimed at helping tackle issues affecting the nation.
In particular, the ODM leader defended his decision stating that some issues cannot be handled from outside.
“Hatutaki wananchi wetu wazidi kuumia. Mambo ya matibabu ikona shida. Hii mambo ya SHA haifanyi kazi, mpaka irekebishwe. Hii mambo ya ushuru wananchi wanatozwa ni juu sana ata hii ya manyumba izi. Mpaka irekebishwe. Haiwezi kurekebishwa kama unakaa Kando, mpaka uingie ndani uwaambie Fanya hii na hii na hii na uweke watu wako wafanye,” Raila stated on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
At the same time, Raila chastised Ruto’s governance, maintaining his dismissive stance on the Social Health Authority (SHA), the housing levy and increased taxations that have made the cost of living unbearable.
