Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol (pictured) has dismissed claims that he threatened to kill Alego/Usonga MP Samwel Atandi.

The claims emerged in an audio clip that has been doing rounds on social media where Oduol is heard accusing Atandi of being behind the rift between him and Governor James Orengo.

Orengo and Oduol have recently fallen out over the running of county affairs with the latter accusing Atandi of being behind the fallout.

Yesterday, Oduol distanced himself from the audio clip, saying it was manufactured by his political detractors to finish him politically.

“Cartels in Siaya have regrouped to spoil my reputation and the issue of the audio clip doing rounds in social media targeting Atandi is fake and edited by my political enemies to spoil my name in public,” Oduol said.

He added that he has always conducted his politics with a high degree of integrity and could not stoop that low to engage in such retrogressive politics.

“All along I have engaged in politics that bring people together and have never associated with violence or dirty politics as claimed in certain quarters,” said Oduol.
