Omollo says govt is committed to strengthening country’s security agencies

Interior Principal Secretary (PS) Raymond Omollo has reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the country’s security agencies.
Speaking during a Thanksgiving service held at the National Youth Service (NYS) Headquarters in Ruaraka on Saturday, April 19, 2025, Omollo noted that he Kenya Kwanza regime respects the work security forces do.
He underscored their importance noting that the role they play in enhancing stability pushes the government to safeguard their well being.
“As the government and as a ministry we take the work that our security services do serious, whether its the National Youth Service, the National Police Service, the Kenya Prison Service and all other security agencies, and that is why this administration is going out of its way not just to look into the welfare of the officers who serve in this security sector but also to build capacity,” he said.

The PS also commended the NYS for the instrumental role they play in shaping brilliant and disciplined youth.
He also encouraged the NYS to continue nurturing the youth to mold responsible citizens who will positively impact the country.
“Those who have gone through NYS carry themselves with admirable discipline. We encourage the leadership of NYS to continue their critical work of nurturing the youth who will lead and build this nation,” the PS added.

Omollo further highlighted the impactful role of parents and guardians in shaping responsible citizens, encouraging them to instill positive values.
“As parents, we are responsible for raising children who are respectful not just to their peers, but also to teachers, elders, and the broader community,” the PS said.
“We must ensure our children are brought up in the ways of the Lord so they grow into responsible citizens who contribute positively to society.”
